Could not be happier

Back in the 80's cut down many factory seats for myself and friends just like this. Was very happy to find one already cut. Quality is on par with factory original, shipped fast and nice company to deal with. Price was also very fair. Looking forward to doing more business with them.

Although this seat is designed to fit the Z1 style latch, like the description says, it can be installed on a KZ with the optional latch kit. Just be prepared to do a little measuring and drilling. I installed it on a KZ1000A2 without hassle. The seat’s hinges line up perfectly, but you will need the $16.00 latch kit, or simply remove the one from your current seat. I made a paper template from the original seat’s pan, then using a punch I lightly tapped to mark the fastener positions on the new seat. Before drilling I used double sided tape to temporarily align and attach the latch to the seat, and then closed the seat while watching to make sure it was aligned properly with the lock on the bike. Then I removed the double sided tape, drilled the holes and used a couple of stainless tapping screws to fasten the latch. That was it! Latched perfectly and looks great! I do a lot of two up riding and what I enjoy most about this seat is my wife no longer slides forward every time we come to a stop. Also, I’m 5’9 and this seat’s lower position allows my feet to reach the ground better than the stock seat. One last thing you might consider is the hook under the seat that catches on the spring loaded bar that holds the seat open. If you’re using this you’ll have to relocate this hook if you install on a KZ. That’s not difficult to do either. I drilled it out and repositioned it for the KZ using two small automotive tapping screws.
